Dives Worth Waiting For
An epic dive isn’t measured in sightings and viz alone; it’s defined by the story beneath you. Barren Island, the only active volcano in the Indian Subcontinent, rises from the deep blue – elemental and alive, where sudden drop-offs plunge past measure and coral gardens bloom in dramatic contrast to black volcanic slopes.
You do 3 dives – 2 on Nitrox & 1 on Air – to make the most out of this bucket-list site. Minimum 40 logged dives + 2 days of check dives help us gauge your buoyancy, SAC, comfort & composure, and pair you with the most compatible buddy.
This isn’t a usual “dive destination”. It’s an expedition rooted in the love for diving, respect for lesser charted waters, and the flex of diving near an active volcano!

Dives Worth Waiting For
Why is there a minimum requirement of 30 logged dives for Barren Island?
- While 30 is not a magic number, the dives here are magical a.k.a. advanced-level, with ever-shifting currents that can sometimes feel like a full-blown washing machine.
- A minimum of 30 logged dives suggests you have the experience, control, and confidence to handle these conditions calmly!
What if I do not have the certification to dive on Enriched Air Nitrox?
- Then take this as your sign to get certified!
- Diving on Enriched Air Nitrox means more bottom time and shorter surface intervals, which is a necessary superpower for diving at Barren Island.
- Plus, it’s a super quick course!
I can’t believe it, but I have to cancel the trip. Do I get any refund?
- Yes! Here’s how it works:
- Tell us 30 days before your Barren Trip – 50% refund
- Any less than 30 days prior – That one hurts, but no refund.
- Weather turns, no one to blame – Full refund!
- Check dives don’t go as well as we thought – No Cancellation Charge. Full Refund!
- Volcanoes don’t follow calendars, and life loves plot twists. But fret not, talk to us, and we’ll find you the best possible solution.
Can I carry a camera for my dives at Barren Island?
- Of course! This is a bucket list dive site. And if you don’t own one, you can always rent one from us.
- But remember: safety first, always. Diver etiquette is all the more important here.
- Stick to the dive plan, follow your dive guide, and respect marine life. Get the photo, but don’t get lost in it.
It’s going to be a long day. Will there be lunch on the boat?
- Absolutely! No diver goes hungry on our watch.
- Expect fresh fruits, samosas, and plenty of beverages, non-alcoholic of course.
- Lunch will be boat-friendly and spill-free. Pizzas, sandwiches, or wraps.
- If you have any dietary preferences or restrictions, we will note them beforehand.
- There is always abundant drinking water onboard, but you can always carry your own refillable bottle too.
Will I need any specific gear to deal with the conditions at Barren? If yes, will they be provided?
- We’ve got reef hooks and SMBs covered, for every group if not for every pocket. Gloves and torches are provided when the dive calls for it.
- If you need anything else, just say the word. You focus on the diving, we’ve got the rest handled!
Is it alright if I plan to fly the very next day?
- Since you are doing 3 dives, you need to stay on land for the next 24 hours. That’s your no-fly time.
- If you plan to fly the very next day, take one that is scheduled after 1400 hours IST. The nitrogen in your system needs to check-out before you do!
