Perfect Buoyancy, Simplified

Buoyancy is one of those skills that defines every dive. The SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty is curated for anyone looking to refine that. 

Through guided exercises, some underwater aerobics, and fun games over two dives, you’ll learn how to stay neutrally buoyant and move with ease. You’ll also unpack the physics behind it – why your breathing pattern matters, what changes with depth, and how to stay in control no matter the conditions. It’s hands-on, practical, and designed to strengthen your fundamentals. 

And once your buoyancy falls into place, everything else follows. Your air lasts longer, your movement feels easier, and as for your diving… absolutely effortless.

Orientation + Briefing at the Dive Centre.

Day 1
Two dives, some skills, followed by a theory session to wrap it all up. 

Perfect Buoyancy, Simplified

Prerequisites:

  • Finishing reading your course material is mandatory BEFORE you arrive.
  • You should also be a certified SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent from any recognized training agency.

Medical Form:

Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive.

If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it! Download the form now.

Age Limitations:

  • The minimum age to glide underwater is 10 years. You’ll be certified as an SSI Perfect Buoyancy Diver.

Price:

  • ₹15,000 per person, all inclusive

  • We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes. 
  • Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

Perfect Buoyancy, Simplified

  • Yes. The Perfect Buoyancy Specialty Program can also be done at our Pool Training Centers in Mumbai and Bangalore. 
  • It’s always recommended to do all your training in the Ocean. But if ever needed, this course can be done in confined water sessions in a pool.
  • If you want to know more on how it will all work out, talk to us!
  • Yes! That dive absolutely will count towards your Perfect Buoyancy Specialty. 
  • How does it work? How many dives will you need? How long will the course take? These questions are better answered on a case-to-case basis.

  • While we’re more than happy to note your preference and will try our best to match you with them, each day’s dive plan gets finalised only on the previous evening.

  • That means more attention, fewer flailing fins, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
  • But that doesn’t mean we won’t do the course with fewer students. We do. There is always a batch finning!

  • Theory, logs, certifications cards…this is your diver flex app, essentially!
  • Yep! Once OWD certified, cameras are allowed on fun dives and most courses (we’ll let your Instructor take the call).

    • Cancel one month prior, and you get a full refund.
    • Two weeks prior? 50% refund.
    • Less than a week? No refund, unfortunately.

Is there no magical way to make finning easier?

We wish, but no. DPVs can make it fun though! You’ll need to be certified to dive with Diver Propulsion Vehicles.

Are there any Specs that will teach me more about marine life?

Yes! There are many Ecology Courses that won’t just teach you how to identify, but truly understand the Ocean better!

What do I pack for my dive trip?

The basics: towel, sun-safe clothing, sunglasses & reusable water bottle. Missed anything? Our DIVEShop got your back!
