Course for the Curious
Once diving feels less daunting, questions start popping up like bubbles. What’s it like to dive deeper? How do I navigate better underwater? What’s the Ocean like after the sun sets? How to get better at buoyancy to observe your fish friends up close and personal?
The SSI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is curated for exactly this stage of curiosity. Try different styles of diving across 5 dives; no rush to commit. This course lets you sample a little, observe a lot, and learn what suits you best.
With the Andaman Sea as your classroom, learning comes easily. By the time you’re done, you’ll be ready to explore depths up to 30 metres globally, and know what kind of fish you are becoming!

Course for the Curious
I need some content for my Instagram! Can I rent a GoPro for that?
- Once OWD certified, you can use a camera on every course (based on Instructor discretion) and all your fun dives.
- In fact, if photography is your thing, you can give your hobby an underwater spin with a Photo & Video adventure dive during AOWD.
What if I have to cancel my trip? Do I get any refund?
- Here are the not-so-fun details:
- Cancel one month prior, and you get a full refund.
- Two weeks prior? 50% refund.
- Less than a week? No refund, unfortunately.
- That said, life loves plot twists and we get it! Talk to us and we’ll figure the best possible solution.
Where do I access my course material?
- On the SSI App – your forever dive buddy. Available on Android & iOS. Phones & tablets. Or even a good ol’ browser.
- Theory, logs, certification cards…this is your diver flex app, essentially!
Will I be able to choose my Instructor?
- Yes and no.
- While we’re more than happy to note your preference and will try our best to match you with them, each day’s dive plan gets finalised only on the previous evening.
- Rest assured, whoever it will be, you’re always in safe hands!
Can I split my course across Havelock and Neil Centres?
- Technically, sure. Would we recommend it? No. Learning flows better when you work with the same instructor throughout your course.
- That being said, if you have a complicated itinerary, talk to us. We can always switch up the dive plan!
What is the Student-to-Instructor ratio for the course?
- 4:1. 4 students. 1 instructor.
- That means more attention, fewer flailing fins, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
- But that doesn’t mean we won’t do the course with fewer students. We do. There is always a batch finning!
