FROM DIVER
TO DIVE PRO

This is where you evolve from being a recreational diver into a more responsible and aware dive leader; where training matters more than certifications.

Divemaster 101

Training as a Divemaster goes far beyond theory and dive skills. You learn in the classroom, in the water, and in the day-to-day rhythm of the DIVESchool.

You’ll study the science of diving, refine skills through structured circuits, and complete specialties such as navigation, deep, and night diving. Along the way, you’ll observe and assist instructors, learn how dives are planned & managed, care for equipment, and understand the logistics behind safe & smooth dive operations.

You may choose between a 2-month training program or a 6-month internship. The curriculum remains the same. The pace and intensity adapt. Regardless of the timeline you choose, learning happens by doing – Observe. Assist. Practice. Repeat.

  • We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes.
  • Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

Divemaster 101

  • Nope. We’ll guide you through the journey to becoming a Dive Pro, but accommodation and meals are outside the syllabus.
  • That said, we are happy to point you towards diver-friendly stays and meal plans within walking distance from the Dive Center.
  • No, not really. Being certified for Rescue doesn’t automatically translate to pro-level skills.
  • The Divemaster Program is about how Pros function in and out of water, where skills need to be of demonstration, teaching and life-saving quality.
  • That kind of experience can’t be rushed, which is why the program is the way it is.
  • Yes and no; it depends on the flexibility of your working hours.
  • Most mornings are spent diving, training, or assisting courses. And some part of the rest of the day involves Dive Center operations.
  • Having said that, working while being a DMT is not unheard of. Just ensure that you don’t let the ball drop if juggling is indeed your forte!
  • Yes, absolutely. The 6-month program can be split into two parts, which works well for students.
  • Come spend 2-3 months learning the ropes, then return within 6-10 months to finish what you started.
  • As long as the full program is wrapped up within a year, you’re good to go.
  • Well… no! Pools are great for learning the basics, but Divemaster Training is about working in the real world of diving.
  • That means boats, currents, dive planning, equipment handling, and real divers with real questions. All of that happens in the Ocean.
  • If shortage of time or any other reason is keeping you away from stepping into the life of a Dive Pro, talk to us. We’ll help you find a sweeter spot.
  • Yes, you can. You don’t really need to, though.
  • It is possible that your Instructor recommends splitting your training across the two locations.
  • Or say, you’re feeling a little island-hoppy and want a change of scenery.
  • In either scenario, this can be decided on ground – basis availability and training needs.
