Way Down We Go
Depth changes things; not dramatically, but definitely. Colours shift. Focus deepens. And every minute counts!
Deep dives aren’t about proving anything; it’s about paying attention to the urge that is pulling you deeper. In the Andamans, the Ocean eases you into that rhythm naturally. The SSI Deep Diving Specialty is where you learn how to balance this pumping adrenaline with a calming curiosity. It lets you experience the deeper end of recreational diving while learning the safety procedures involved, and practicing some advanced skills like deploying an SMB and breathing from a drop tank.
By the end, depth will feel familiar ‘coz it is less about how deep you go and more about how you go there…

Way Down We Go
Prerequisites:
- Finishing reading your course material is mandatory BEFORE you arrive.
- You should also be a certified SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent from any recognized training agency.
Medical Form:
Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive.
If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it! Download the form now.
Age Limitations:
- The minimum age for maximum recreational depth is 15 years. You’ll be certified as an SSI Deep Diver.
Price:
- ₹28,000 per person, all inclusive

- We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes.
- Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

I’ve done one Deep Adventure Dive during my Advanced course. Will that count here?
- Yes! That dive absolutely will count towards your Deep Diving Specialty.
- How does it work? How many dives will you need? How long will the course take? These questions are better answered on a case-to-case basis.

Can I split my course across Havelock and Neil Centres?
- Technically, sure. Would we recommend it? No. Learning flows better when you work with the same instructor throughout your course.
- That being said, if you have a complicated itinerary, talk to us. We can always switch up the dive plan!
Will I be able to choose my Instructor?
- Yes and no.
- While we’re more than happy to note your preference and will try our best to match you with them, each day’s dive plan gets finalised only on the previous evening.
- Rest assured, whoever it will be, you’re always in safe hands!
What is the Student-to-Instructor ratio for the course?
- 4:1. 4 students. 1 instructor.
- That means more attention, fewer flailing fins, and plenty of time for feedback where it matters most.
- But that doesn’t mean we won’t do the course with fewer students. We do. There is always a batch finning!
Where do I access my course material?
- On the SSI App – your forever dive buddy. Available on Android & iOS. Phones & tablets. Or even a good ol’ browser.
- Theory, logs, certifications cards…this is your diver flex app, essentially!
I want to become an underwater photographer. Can I rent a GoPro and try capturing some fish friends?
- Yep! Once OWD certified, cameras are allowed on fun dives and most courses (we’ll let your Instructor take the call).
- And if you are really into underwater photography, the Photo & Video Specialty and you are a match made in heaven the Ocean!
What if I have to cancel my trip? Do I get any refund?
- Here are the not-so-fun details:
- Cancel one month prior, and you get a full refund.
- Two weeks prior? 50% refund.
- Less than a week? No refund, unfortunately.
- That said, life loves plot twists and we get it! Talk to us and we’ll figure the best possible solution.
