Capturing moments is like collecting stories. The more pieces you have, the more life-like your tale becomes. Nobody likes them overexposed or with blurry details. The SSI Photo & Video Specialty is that colourful upgrade to your DIVEJourney.

Across two days, you’ll learn to find angles that capture the best light, understand camera settings, and handle your equipment with ease – all while being neutrally buoyant and in trim. The most important part – you’ll learn how to approach marine life without chasing or disturbing them. An introductory editing session later, your captures will start feeling like déjà vu of your dives!

The Ocean doesn’t wait and sightings don’t repeat. But with the right skills, you’ll be able to capture proof of your adventurous DIVETales!

ITINERARY

Day 0
Orientation + Briefing at the Dive Centre.
If you’ve been here before, welcome back!
Day 1
Camera in hand, buoyancy getting to neutral – do two dives to understand what it takes for one good picture!
Day 2
Two more dives, and one editing session later – you’ll be a certified fish paparazzi!

Behind the Scenes

Prerequisites:

  • Finishing reading your course material is mandatory BEFORE you arrive.
  • You should also be a certified SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent from any recognized training agency.

Medical Form:

Before you dive, you’ll need to fill out a medical questionnaire. It is a self-check of your eligibility to dive.

If you do need a doctor’s clearance, we will guide you through it! Download the form now.

Age Limitations:

  • The minimum age to click Nat Geo worthy shots is 10 years. You’ll earn the SSI Photo & Video certification. 

Price:

  • ₹24,000 per person, all inclusive

Behind the Scenes

  • We’ve got the essentials covered – study material, instructor charges, gear, training dives, certification, snacks & beverages on all dive days, and taxes. 
  • Travel, meals, & stay are additional expenses.

Behind the Scenes

  • You don’t need to. An underwater camera with housing is included in the gear we provide for this course.
  • Although if you want to, you can get your personal camera – with an underwater housing. Unfortunately, we don’t retail these yet. And purchasing one on the island is difficult – to put it mildly.
  • It goes without saying – the photos and videos you click will be shared with you!
  • Yes. The Photo & Video Specialty Program can also be done at our Pool Training Centres in Mumbai and Bangalore. 
  • It’s always recommended to do all your training in the Ocean. But if ever needed, this course can be done in confined water sessions in a pool.

  • Yes! That dive absolutely will count towards your Photo & Video Specialty.

Is there no magical way to make finning easier?

We wish, but no. DPVs can make it fun though! You’ll need to be certified to dive with Diver Propulsion Vehicles.

I haven’t dived in more than 6 months…

And that’s alright. The Scuba Skills Update Program will jog your muscle memory in no time!
